IS&WFPO and CSHMAC Persue Celtic Sea Herring Marine Stewardship Council Certification

Following the success of the Irish South and West Fish Producers Organisation (IS&WFPO) and the Irish Pelagic Sustainability Association (IPSA) in securing Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)  Certification for Western Mackerel on 14th July 2010, the IS&WFPO supports the efforts of the Celtic Sea Herring Management Advisory Committee (CSHMAC) in pursuing MSC Certification for Celtic Sea Herring. MSC Certification supports both sustainable fishing practices and promotes continued market share protection and development for Irish pelagic seafood products.

MSC Certification is open to all interested vessel owners and stakeholders with interests in this fishery. Vessel owners can apply to participate in the MSC Certification Scheme and find out more information from the following documents.
